The Species of Tigers:

The Sumantran Tiger. Sumantran Tigers are Critically Endangered. They are smaller than the Bengal and Siberian Tigers.Sumatran Tigers reside on the island of Sumatra in Indonesia. Males are 260 lbs. and females about 200 lbs.

The Siberian Tiger. Also known as the Manchurian or Amur Tiger, they are Endangered. They are the largest of the big cat species, some males weigh around 600-700lbs. There are only a few hundred left in the wild today. Siberian tigers are known for their thick coat that keeps them warm in the cold temperatures they inhabit. At the shoulder, they stand over one meter tall, and are 12 ft long.

The Bengal Tiger. Bengal Tigers are Endangered. They have the highest numbers of population compared to any of the other species. However, there are less than 2,500 individuals living in the wild. Males are usually 480 lbs. and females are about 300 lbs.

The South-Chinese Tiger. The South-Chinese Tigers are Critically Endangered. Many have suggested that the South-Chinese tiger is techniqually, extinct, there being less than 100 known in captivity.

The Indo-Chinese Tiger. The Indo-Chinese Tiger is Endangered. Today, there are only a few hundred left in the wild. Due to cultural Chinese medicines, they’ve mostly been hunted to be ingredients for magical cures.

The Malayan Tiger. The Malayan Tiger is Critically Endangered. It's estimated that only a few hundred are still living in the wild. They are much smaller than Bengal tigers, males are usually 260 lbs. and females 220 lbs.
